The Funks And Us…

Let’s go back in time to June 13, 2012…I know, it’s not that back in time!

Anyway, I’m sure some of you already know our good friends the Funks. We decided to get together at San Diego with them (since they were already there visiting). We always have such a fun time with them. It’s nice that they also have kids that are really close in age to our kids. Some of the activities we had was a day at the beach…

We also visited the USS Midway. It was so neat! Phil was like a kid in a candy store.

It was very crazy, but as we were going into the ship, we ran into a group of Chilean Sailors (Wes found them). They had just arrived to San Diego, so I decided I needed a picture with them.

While I was a very good girl, these guys all got in trouble. I had to bail them out to continue the tour. ;)

The kids earned their junior wings by completing a VERY LONG Audio Tour. I have never seen them look so sharp and quiet as they received their wings. It was quite the change for my kids. ;)

The kids decided that they needed to experience flight simulation, so let’s just say that I’m so glad they didn’t throw up all over the place.

The kids (and Dads) had fun dog fighting in different aircraft…

And finally we reached the main deck where aircraft take off.

And that was our day at the USS Midway.

We also visited Balboa Park in San Diego. The park has different museums and we picked the Natural History Museum. They were presenting an exhibit on the Titanic. It was interesting to see the different parts of the ship.
