Nicholas has turned 5 years old! After much thinking, Nick finally decided that the theme for his party this year should be: “Super Mario Bros.”
We actually had a lot of fun trying to create all the decorations (since the party stores were not carrying any of the Super Mario party supplies.) The kids kept giving me ideas of what to do and these were the results ;)
So we got some Yoshi Eggs(jelly beans), Star power (star lolly pops), Toad pops (marshmallows with red chocolate), Fire Power (fire balls), and more Fire Power ( Mario colors lolly pops.)
The water bottles were so fun to create. The kids told me we should create a “Water Co.” with personalized messages. I guess I’m training them early in the business world ;)
I have learned that in the b-day parties, it’s way easier to have cupcakes for the kids (easy and the kids don’t fight about getting the prettiest part of the cake.) Nick wanted to have his own personalized little cake for himself, so a very small cake was added to the show. Bombs were guarding his portion ;)
Some special guests showed up to Nick’s Super Mario Birthday party. Please meet the “Super Thompson Brothers.” They were as excited as the kids with the party theme ;)
Good friends and family were invited to the celebration.
Taking a few seconds with our little birthday guy to get a picture with him. Getting a picture with Nick is as hard as getting a picture with a celebrity! ;) Notice the big lump in Nick’s mouth (fired ball) and serious face. As soon as we finished taking the picture, he ran to spit out the fireball… too hot for him. I guess a “fire ball” is this Super Hero’s kryptonite ;)
Piñata time!
Time to make a wish! The wind made it so hard to get the candles lit. All the adults were great wind barriers. Some more then others ;)
And finally, Nick was able to blow out his candles after a few attempts.
It’s so fun to have uncle Patrick around!! He is full of energy (something I’m totally lacking) and has no fear getting attacked by any troopers or super heroes around here.
There are times that uncle Patrick wins….but there are also times that he doesn’t get that lucky!
So there you go! I finally posted. I hope it doesn’t take me another year to post again. I hope you enjoyed it. :)
Game over!!!
